Everybody Tyson metrics here with maximum lawyer podcast, I’m doing a pop up podcast with Mike Campbell, personal injury attorney in Columbia, Missouri. And I was in his office and we were talking about email. And he said something actually was really shocking to me. I think the people that listen to the show know how much I hate email, and this be a good tip of eliminating many of my email headaches. So, Mike, do

Mike Campbell.
you want to tell what the tip is? Yeah, so my tip is, is that I don’t give out my email address to clients. And that may come as a shock to a lot of people, I know that some people say, well, I need to do it for customer service purposes. Well, that’s fine. But this is worked for me. What I do is I funnel people to one of my staff members, on my business cards, I give a general email address that goes to one of my staff members. And I explained to them, this is basically John Fisher tip that I’m in court a lot, or I’m working on a case. And they’re pretty receptive to that. In fact, they respect that a lot. And so they’ll send an email to one of my staff members, my staff member will shoot it over to me. And if it’s something that I need to jump on the phone with them and discuss, we can set up a phone conference, if it’s something that one of my staff members can call him about, then they’ll do that. But I think my clients respect the fact that I’m either working on cases or I’m in court, many my clients are seeing doctors, so they know that they can’t just get them at a moment’s notice. So they seem to be pretty respectful and understanding of it. I haven’t lost the client because of it. And in fact, the few clients that I still have, who had my email address from many years ago are the ones that honestly, email me all the time. And so to avoid that, and to avoid missed emails as a customer service or opportunity, I let them email my staff members and then my staff members forwarded on or figure it out or do whatever the situation requires.
