Tyson, how you doing today? Thanks for having me on. You know, I don’t know if you can call me an attorney for much longer, after you’re stopped the bullshit presentation that Max lock on. That’s what inspired me to start up firm flex and really grab life and make it what I want it to be.

It’s pretty crazy. Since June you’ve put together so June dude, June is still insane. You’ve put together this awesome product that you’ve let me test out. And you had a pretty good sized beta group test it out. And you’ve made improvements since the beta group started. And I get to see it from the beginning with the beta group. So me and Ryan McCain. And so I guess talk about what firm Flex is because I think it’s I think firm flex. And I don’t know what your your future plans are plans are with firm flex, but I don’t think firm flex really says what it is. So talk about what it is, I think it’s pretty cool.

Okay, so the the idea came to me when I was on a plane coming back from Max locked on, you know, I had said to my wife that I wanted to get into something where I can help other lawyers, solos, small firms do something with marketing their practices. And to do it in a way that it wasn’t a big budget that was necessary. Plenty of people don’t have the money to spend 1000s every month on SEO or pay per click, because they’re small shops, there’s one or two lawyers, they’re just starting out. And social media really is, is that opportunity for people to get in on the ground floor and use a little sweat equity, I’m sure that’s going to be necessary, because the way we have it set up, but also put themselves in a situation where they can really sort of establish a network that’s going to serve them for the next decade. Because what I have found in my own practice is that people that I networked with 510 15 years ago, we’re still sending me business. And for those people who are just starting out a practice, you know, people are now on social, it wasn’t around when I started my practice, but people are there. And I’ve had the luxury of having a more established practice over the last few decades, and building it up. And so as social started to creep up and take over, I was able to pour money into resources to try to figure out how to use it best. And I think we’ve cracked the code. And so coming back after hearing your presentation saying, Do what you’re passionate about, I turned to my wife, I said, I really have a passion for something. And I think I can make it work, essentially adopting the Crossett model, where every day we say, here’s what you need to accomplish just for today, I’m not going to tell you, you need to do something for 90 days. I’m gonna say execute this today, in the next five minutes. And then in a year from now, you will have so much more accomplished because you’re just doing five minutes today, I honestly laughed when I said to say, hey, I can get people to do something every day on the toilet, that’s going to dramatically change their practice. And from that, that’s where from flex sprung from.

So funny. And then it’s in I’m going to go into some of the specifics. And stop me if you’re not okay with it. But I don’t want to give away too much of the secret sauce because I think there is some secret sauce. And they’re basically the way it works is is that each morning, I’ll get a text message. And basically with the topics of the day, and then it directs me to the to the closed Facebook group that you have for there only for members. And then that gives me more specifics as to what I can post about gives me good ideas, gives images and you’ve got an image library that’s got a bunch of stuff for ideas. And it’s pretty freakin cool. It’s pretty awesome. And it I will tell you, it skyrocketed my engagement in my impressions and whenever you whenever I do it, and it’s it’s an awesome reminder that you get every single day to do the social media posts, because I think we all know that we’ve got to do them. But we don’t have that encouragement that helps us push us over the hump. So you would talk a little bit about the mechanisms that you’d have built into for accountability. So absolutely.

That’s one of the things that’s important to me. In fact, you know, I talked to my trainer a lot about business operations because he runs a small service based business. And I said to him, I’ve said to him multiple times over the years that the only reason why I make it to the gym is because I have an appointment, already booked with you on my calendar, if it was up to me to find the time on my own, I wouldn’t find it because there’s so many time pull things pulling at my free time. And so what we did is we sought out some technology that would allow us to send a text message every morning, to get people up and thinking about it so that when you wake up, it’s on your phone. And quite frankly, over the Boehner groups, we went from being text messages at 8am, to 6am. And we’re actually in the process of, of recoding it so that it’s going to come in anywhere after 2am. Because it’s amazing. Some people have different lifestyles, and they’re up earlier, some people go to bed earlier. So we use the technology to deliver that text message, remind you Okay, first thing I need to do in the morning, get into the gym, do my daily workout, grab my image, here’s my concept posted up on social media, using the right hashtags, creating topics that people that are not lawyers will want to engage with, because that’s one of the biggest problems that lawyers have lawyers tend to do ego based advertising and ego based marketing, which talks about how great they are and their verdicts and their settlements and what they can do for people. But that’s not necessarily what people are there for on social media to do. So we provide theme weeks, images, hashtags, and concepts to get the people that exist in your network engaging with you, encouraging you to engage back, create that conversation. And then every night, we also follow up with another text message saying, Hey, did you get it done, because for all of us, we’re all small, solo, small, firm people, we’ve got all those people pulling us in different directions. So we wait till the end of the night, we’re going to send a text message just to check in and make sure that you got it done. Because we need to have accountability every day. Because if you work every day, you’re gonna see results. Consistency, breeds results. So that’s what we it took us a while to find the right tech. In fact, we’re actually testing out some new tech to integrate into our, into our software to make it even better for people. And we’re probably going to be able to integrate that sometime in the next couple of weeks. Because we’re really a tech forward business, trying to give people as much as possible value for what they give us. So that’s, that’s really what it’s all about is if I want to provide value, like I posted in the next lawyer, group this week, it’s really become my why I like helping lawyers. I like helping lawyers, whether I like helping clients. And so I have found my why after 47 years and 21 years of practicing law, I now know where I want to go for the next two decades.

I love it and always talking about vision. And I think that that’s really, really important. So it doesn’t matter when you find it just gotta find it at some point. No, but that marketing you’re talking about, you know, I was talking about social media being a billboard that you can interact with. And that advertising that lawyers traditionally do, they usually do that billboard advertising, you know, pounding on the chest. But what you’ve done is you’ve created this type of marketing, that people can actually interact with you. And it’s really kind of cool some of the stuff and one of our biggest engagements, usually the biggest engagements was about food, which I found really interesting. But one of the biggest ones is I asked about what, what candy or what people ate at the movies, which was really just kind of crazy. It was it was often one of your themes that you had these, one of your theme weeks was a movie week or something like that. And it was it was just incredible engagement is crazy, how much people interacted with you and each other. And so you really does help build that community. It’s pretty awesome. So you have different levels, though. And so we talk a little bit about the different levels that you’ve have that people can buy in on.

Sure. So I think really for most people starting out the do it yourself plan where we give you the system you need. And we’re all big systems people here in the community, the systems you need to post every day and do what you want. That that’s really what you that you were you would need to start the next level up is our manage plan. I have people here in my office that can execute for you the essentially the do it yourself plan we have people that are available. If you say look, I want to be active on social but I don’t want to actually do any of it are people will post for you and engage with your customers engage with your clients online. It sort of takes some of the burden off you and then beyond that we have custom plans, which involves video, lead funnels, drip campaigns, you know, all sorts all sorts of things that you can do with with social media marketing across platforms. But really for the majority of people just starting out dipping their toe. We wanted to make it easy for people to get into social media marketing and start seeing results. it’s absolutely amazing. I used to be the guy who hated doing that, because I knew it was like, oh, every day, I got to do this. And I know it matters. But it’s just it’s a struggle for me. And it was always way down on the bottom I list that I found the software and I’ve used it, and the engagement has gone through the roof. And people are messaging me saying thank you, they’re commenting. It’s awesome. I mean, I mean, part of me wants to hold it to myself. But that, you know, the other part is we need to let this out there. Because I think everybody in the community is going to love it. You can set up to three different messages. You can add gifts, you can add static images, you can create don’t wish list if there’s people that you don’t want to wish happy birthday to you. And it’s a phenomenal, phenomenal way of automatically sending a person a birthday message on their birthday. And I know for me, a number of your listeners have gotten birthday messages from me. And I just set it and forget it. It’s a wonderful thing. I love seeing the responses from people. And it’s often you know, you somebody responded to your post and I’m like, I didn’t post anything. Oh yeah, the birthday message. And the messages I’m getting are phenomenal and I like engaging with people that I may have lost contact with. So it’s a great way to push that engagement with people but not actually have to do it. Other than setting it up and then waiting for the responses to come in. So it’s it’s a great it’s called birthday but beat A bunch.com I’ve been using it now for a couple of months.
